Cabin Fever

It seems like I've spent a lot of time indoors, complaining about how shitty the weather is this winter. This shot is from a local Paper Mill that I've been to many times. I hiked a quater mile through 10 inches of snow and only bothered to shoot this one scene. I really just needed to get out of the house and drink a lager pounder in an abandonment. Quick fix for the winter blues.

Ghetto School

After gaining access to the large courtyard, we waiting for dawn. As the sun started to light things up, it looked much more like a post WWII battle zone, than a former school. The place is a complete disaster zone. We avoided two different lurkers and one scrapper while making our way through the mess.

The Huber Breaker

Built in 1892 as the Lehigh and Wilkes-Barre Breaker, then rebuilt in 1939 as the Huber Breaker. This building was used by the Glen Alden Coal Company to crush and size the coal brought to the surface from three nearby mines. The coal was sorted, washed, and put into train gondolas awaiting in the yard behind the breaker. Seven to ten thousand people worked in the 134 foot tall, 11-story Huber breaker. Walkways are loose, steps are missing, handrails are gone, and hundreds of the steel-reinforced windows are broken or missing. Most of the machinery has been stolen since the breaker was shut down in 1976.

Buffalo.

Tons of driving, shooting, tacos and a little bit of sleep over two days in July.
